Chess is by far our favorite Chess app apart from Chess by Post. Chess by post is all about playing with a stranger, you get to play with random opponents who have more or less the equivalent ranking. White starts, if you start a game you’re white. Once you make a move you’ve got 5 days to make the next move, you can make your next move at anytime within that 5 day time limit. If failed the opponent is declared the winner. Apart from this all the rules of chess apply. You can also start a unranked game, which implies that your ranking will not raise or lower if you win or lose an unranked game. Unranked game can be between you and your facebook friends or by username.
On the other hand Chess is an app which allows you to play with the computer, this is the main highlight of this game even though both the app has local two player. So you love Chess and you have a Windows Phone? These two are the apps for you! Go get them and make your brain busy.

Weather+ is a cool new weather app for Windows Phone. It is nothing like the other weather apps out there, and it goes along with the text heavy Windows Phone style with minimal pictures in its UI but gives you a lot of glanceable information via text. It also has enormous customizability with toast notification, something new to the weather
app category as far as i can remember. Try it out, you’ll be impressed.
The public version will be released on January 10th, but right now the beta and public version has nothing separating them. This is a sneak peek of the app, stay tuned for info when the app gets published in the store.

HERE suite of location services are the best out there, and we all know it. HERE range recently got updated with a blue theme, previously it matched your theme color. Now it is all B, as in blue and better. Here Drive got updated to 4.0.5399.0 a strange no. to put up instead of just 4.0.540. Lets us see what is new.
Now you can set the time interval to update the traffic into from 5-30 minutes and also hide the updates which is not going to affect your route.
Another update is find my car, this is really interesting as it allows you to locate your car while leaving it and go where ever you want and what ever you want to do, and when its time to go back, it will direct you to where you left your car. Pretty cool isn’t.
Live traffic updates
Wish it also shows POI too. We still have all those hidden under places.
That is Temple Tower & Periyar Building in 3D view. If you happen to live in Chennai, India you’ll know this place. 3D maps is super cool!
Okay that is all new in HERE Drive, let us see about HERE Explore which is right now in beta.
See HERE suite is fully in blue. If you see your theme color there, then it means you are having the old version.
Now all HERE suite services has collections included in it. Collections are as the name implies collections of your favourite places.
HERE Explorer lets you explorer the places around you using Nokia’s LiveSite. It shows the POI nearby.
If you search in the web its giving error right now, but works well in the phone. Update and enjoy the new features HERE has to offer. It now also has a Credits page under About which states all those who are behind where HERE is here today.
We had the privilege to use the app the very first, and since then to the latest version 0.0.0.10, the app has evolved a lot. It was first named as EasyShot, but its now 1Shot. Not sure why the developer changed it, guess that will make his app to appear on top of the app list in your phones. And another fact is that it had an option to change from pinch to zoom or swipe to zoom under the settings earlier. Which is now just swipe to zoom, given that even Nokia Pro Cam is a swipe to zoom, swiping seems more natural to a Lumia user.
Yup, full resolution capture and syncing it back to SkyDrive onto your PC or whatever large screen device of your’s running Windows. Till now you have to physically connect the 1020 to the PC to make use the full resolution shot. That scenario is no more, this app allows you to get rid of that problem all together. It syncs the full resolution images to the SkyDrive which allows you to directly share or use the high quality awesomeness from 1020’s camera to the world. With this unique feature which no other app offers right now, along with feature packed offering in a lite package makes 1Shot a no brainer. Lumia owners other than 1020 give this a shot and the lucky ones sporting a 1020, what the hell are you doing still? Go grab it now! And given that its still in beta, spare some time to report your feedback to the developer via the options within the app.
One of the most complex things that everyone does with their smartphones is personal tasks management. Everyone hates adding todos and organizing them into lists and everything. Windows Phone was designed to simple and minimal, and the app that I’m about to introduce respects that in every way. I almost gave up using Todo list software until I encountered this little app. I was using the built OneNote for the most simple of things. No more. Don’t get me wrong, I still use OneNote, but not for such trivial things.
Sooner or later offers you the ability to add todos in a quick and effective manner, into 3 separate categories: Soon, Later and Scheduled. The Soon category also appears on the live tile, should you choose to pin it to the homescren. You can move items between the three categories as well as completing them… or not. Undecided right? Well, Sooner or Later offers you the ability to set your todo as complete or to move it to the “never” list, in case you changed your mind about it.
The adding process is painless and the input needed from the user is minimal, just type your todo text and you’re done. You do have the ability to add a more detailed description, and for scheduled todos add a date when they’re supposed to expire.
Moving todos and changing their status from complete to never or the other way around is done by simply tapping the todo entry. A menu will appear allowing you to edit, or move the entry to other lists.
You can head over to the Sooner or Later Markeplace page to give it a try.
