Lately, we have seen a lot of renders of Nokia Normandy, first Android phone from Nokia.
@evleaks just leaked another picture, a real image of Nokia Normandy. Though there is nothing more than a Nokia splash screen, most probably, a boot screen, but it is first real image of the phone.
Here are details on our previous post on expected Nokia phone running Android OS codename: Nokia Normandy
Information reaching us states that the Nokia’s Android phone has shown up itself on AnTuTu benchmark. The screenshots shared over Weibo in China reveal 5 MP camera, 854 x 480 display resolution and will run Android KitKat’s latest version 4.4.1. The device is codenamed A110 as seen in screenshots and should use Qualcomm Snapdragon processor though the screenshot doesn’t reveal which?
We are being made to understand that Nokia will skin, fork and tweak Google’s “vanilla” mobile OS, to the point the Play Store won’t be supported.
My wonder still points on Nokia’s acquisition by Microsoft. What will be their reaction with the support of their rival? Join the conversations by following @NokiaTips on twitter.
Nokia is building an Android phone, codenamed Normandy. We posted a screenshot of Nokia ‘s custom Android UI last week.
@evleaks has shared some more screenshots of Nokia’ s Android UI.
As you can see in leaked screenshot, Nokia is trying to build a custom UI resembling the look of its Asha OS and elements from Windows Phone.
It’s still unclear whether Nokia will ever release Android phones following its acquisition by Microsoft.
People seem to be excited about a long awaiting wishes of seeing a Nokia Android device. But as it is being said, Nokia is going to use this Android fork only for its low end devices, possibly by replacing Asha OS with this.
