Nokia supposedly working on a new Snapdragon 710 based phone code-named “Phoenix”

Folks over at Nokia have been on a bit of a roll recently. With announcing 3 new phones, namely the Nokia 2.1, the Nokia 3.1 and the Nokia 5.1 there is word that it is working on another new smartphone. Now there are rumblings beginning to appear about a new device. Through a post on Twitter, Roland Quandth, claims that Nokia is working on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 based smartphone which has been internally codenamed “Phoenix” by it. Nokia promise to upgrade all phones to Android P

Nokia’s parent company HMD Global, announced that every phone launched by it will be receiving Android P. All the phones released by HMD Global, from the Nokia 3 to the more recent Nokia 8 Sirocco will be receiving the update. The Android P update will also be pushed to the recently launched Nokia 5.1, Nokia 2.1 and the Nokia 3.1. Chorus and Nokia partner to create Optical Wavelength service

Nokia made an announcement stating Chorus will be trialing a new Optical Wavelength solution in the city of Auckland, New Zealand using its network infrastructure and commissioning solution. The network is supposed to be an Open network that can cater to on-demand service requirements for users. The network is based on the emerging MEF1 standard, that has the potential to open wholesaling optical wavelength services in a completely different way. Nokia and Osram partner to create indoor 5G networks using lights

In a recent interview, Nokia and Osram announced that there was collaboration between the two companies to create indoor lighting capable of boosting 5G signals indoors. Nokia is providing its Networking capabilities whereas Osram would be providing its expertise in the world of lights and  its manufacturing capabilities for this project. Although, at the time of writing this article, no mobile carriers are involved, but Osram has confirmed that they have tested the technology in its offices.
