Chorus and Nokia partner to create Optical Wavelength service

Nokia made an announcement stating Chorus will be trialing a new Optical Wavelength solution in the city of Auckland, New Zealand using its network infrastructure and commissioning solution. The network is supposed to be an Open network that can cater to on-demand service requirements for users. The network is based on the emerging MEF1 standard, that has the potential to open wholesaling optical wavelength services in a completely different way. Nokia and Osram partner to create indoor 5G networks using lights

In a recent interview, Nokia and Osram announced that there was collaboration between the two companies to create indoor lighting capable of boosting 5G signals indoors. Nokia is providing its Networking capabilities whereas Osram would be providing its expertise in the world of lights and  its manufacturing capabilities for this project. Although, at the time of writing this article, no mobile carriers are involved, but Osram has confirmed that they have tested the technology in its offices. Nokia and T-Mobile perform 5G data transmission test in USA

In a post on its website, Nokia announced that it performed a 5G data transmission test in collaboration with T-Mobile USA and Intel at Bellvue, Washington State, USA. The test was performed at the busy downtown corridor of Bellvue, the post stated. It used the 28GHz spectrum using the Nokia 5G commercial AirScale solution and the 5G Mobile Trial Platform (MTP) from Intel.
